Khushal Khan Khattak was not destined to reap the fruits of his labours. But his noble example was vigorously followed by others, and his innumerable sacrifices fired the imagination of the Afghans all over the country. Every-where national movements took a serious form. The first to strike successfully was a Hotaki Chief of Kandahar, named Mir Vais Khan.
