we have contracted to purchase
16,000 rifles and one crore and
eight lakhs cartridges from
France. The price of nine
thousand out of the same has
been paid off in cash and the
balance will be paid in due
course. The German Govern
ment too has assumed towards
us an attitude of friendliness.
