The various aspects of this movement as regards\nsuch localities as Kabul, Charikar, and Ghazni have been\ndetailed to a considerable extent, but this is the first article\nwhich contrives to reveal those national activities which were\ndirected against General Nott at Kandahar. During this\nnatoinal demonstration a large number of people collected\naround the city of Kandahar, and by setting fire to the\ngate of Herat at Kandahar on the night of loth March 1842,\nstarted to attack the English.\n\nThe great anti-English national demonstration of Kabul, which\nstarted with the burning of the house of Burnes and his assassina\ntion on Thursday 2nd of November 1841.A.D. (17th. Ramazan 1157.\nA.H.) is one of the important dates in the history of Afghanisan, which\nought to called the Day of National Uprising against the for\neign occupation of the Country. This uprising was in very possible\nway a national uprising: because by the movement the nation was\nunited against the foreigner and a king who was the protector of the\nforeign powers occuping the country : and that by the command\nof the real leaders of the nation, the people rose in a body against\nthe enemies of the country.
