The hum\nof machinery heard in this remote district\naugurs well for the technological success\nof the country.\nWorkshops at the School of Mechanics\nin Kandahar have been fully equipped\nwith machines and tools like those of\ntechnical schools in advanced countries.\nEquipment and instructors for this School\nhave been provided by U.N.E.S.C.O.\nIn the Afghan Institute of Technology\na quantity of equipment for mechanical\nrepairs, welding, a tin-smithy and the\nadministrative office has been received\nfrom the United States I.C.A.
